Anthony Minguel

Born in 1942

 

1955 The monks from Don Bosco gave mr. Minguel the opportunity to get familiar with track & field when he was thirteen years old. Before track & field he played soccer and baseball.
1959 Mr. Minguel started to specialize, and practice shot put, javelin throw, and discus throw when he turned 17 years.
1962-1972 Reactivates “Nederlands Antilliaans Atletiek Unie” and is boardmember.
1964 Founding member of “the Olympics” a track and field club in Curaçao.
1966 – 1970 Reactivates the Track and Field Federation in Curaçao and is boardmember.
1967 Set up the first technical commission for track and field in Curaçao.
1970 – 1972 And he competed in the Central American & Caribbean Championship.
1970-1999 Delegation member and coach for Central American & Caribbean Championships, World Championships, The Olympics, a.o.
1972-1994 President of the Track and Field Federation in Curaçao.
1974

Training for track and field Coaching at the Springfield College MA, USA.

1975

Training for track and field Coaching at CDOM, Mexico City.

1976 Training on administration at the office of KNAU The Netherlands.
1978 Trainer of the year Curaçao.
1978 – 1990 Coach for local clubs
1982-1997 Training administration in Italy, Puerto Rico, and Bahamas.

  • Organizing member of the first youth Central American & Caribbean Championship in Curaçao.

1988 Organizing member of the first invitational Dutch Caribbean Championship and also the CAC Cross Country Championship.
1989 The IAAF Veteran Pin.
1990-1998 President of the Central American & Caribbean federation.
1991 – 1995 Vice president NACAC (federation  North American Central America and Caribbean).
1993 “Ere Medaille in Goud in de Orde van Oranje Nassau”.
1995-1999 Organizing member of the High-level training camp for CAC members in Germany.
1997-1999 Organizing member of the Dutch Caribbean Championship.
1998 President of Track and Field Federation in Curaçao.
1999 Vice president NACAC and vice president of the “Nederlands Antilliaans Olympisch Committee).
